🦷 Dental Billing Specialist – Join Our Growing Dental Group

We are seeking an organized, adaptable, and experienced Dental Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of dental billing processes, insurance plans, and regulatory guidelines, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in all billing operations. This role plays a key part in meeting our practices’ billing goals and supporting seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Post CDT codes to patient ledgers based on provider clinical notes in line with billing guidelines.
✔ Submit insurance claims through practice management software with required documentation (X-rays, narratives, perio charting, intraoral photos, etc.).
✔ Investigate and resolve claim denials or rejections, implementing corrective measures.
✔ Monitor patient accounts for irregularities, such as missing procedures or payments.
✔ Reconcile all practice payments across multiple payment methods.
✔ Process prior authorizations for dental procedures.
✔ Audit treatment coordinators’ clinical notes and update patient treatment plans.
✔ Compile dental records as requested by patients and insurance carriers.

Qualifications

✔ 5–10 years of experience in a dental office billing/administrative role.
✔ In-depth knowledge of Dental Insurance plans: PPO, DMO, DHMO (Capitation), and NYS Managed Care Programs.
✔ Strong understanding of in-network/out-of-network benefits and fee-for-service structures.
✔ Working knowledge of General Dentistry and Orthodontics procedures.
✔ Up-to-date knowledge of ADA billing guidelines, including CDT code updates and frequency limitations.
✔ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
✔ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
✔ Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
✔ High-speed internet connection and dedicated workspace for remote work.
✔ Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
